H&M x The Long & Short of Style

We are so very excited to be partnering with one of our favourite brands to show you what we’re loving for spring! H&M is a brand we have been buying from for YEARS! They have great styles at an awesome price, meaning you can always look great for work and play! And WE JUST ADORE THEM! Now that they have offerings for both straight and plus size, we are both all in on H&M!

So y’all…I really have to take a moment to express just how excited I am to be partnering with H&M to highlight some of our fave spring styles! I shopped with them for years now and they stay giving us dopeness at a price that makes my bank account very happy! Fashionable finds that fit my finances is the name of the game and I love it!

For my first spring look, I just had to have this beautiful printed dress! The colour – amazing! The print –everything, and the sizing – incredible! I am on the slim and taller end of the spectrum at a size US 0 – 4 and at 5ft9in, so it’s not often that I can buy a piece in my size and get sleeves like these to fit my extra long arms! I could have even gone down a size as the dress has loads of room to be free and allows me to eat until my hearts content (a very big deciding factor when I purchase piecesJ).

With a casual denim jacket for some of those cooler spring days, or with a great heel for evenings out (when we can be out again), this dress will take you anywhere and have you looking good all the way! This dress also has me dreaming of vacations to exotic and not so exotic places where I may need to be comfortable for a long trip and still look great when I arrive!

The weight of this dress means that it hangs beautifully, and the fabric is such that it does not crush very much. If you don’t enjoy ironing/steaming your garments, you can totally get away without ironing this piece. However, if you’re anything like me and hate the slightest hint of a wrinkle, you will have to iron/steam it if you’ve packed it tightly in your luggage (yes, I have vacations on the brain!LOL).

For my curvy hoties: Blazer // Dress // Pants //

I ADORE each of these pieces individually and together. I love layering my looks. I think it adds visual interest and keeps me warm when the temperature is not my ideal of 30 degrees Celsius.

I am all about my oversized pieces these days. I think it is in part because of the pandemic and my becoming accustomed to being super comfy all the time. This look meets my “comfy” requirement to a T! The blazer is reminiscent of Balmain and the double breasted look is all the rage. It is a great piece as it can be dressed up or down so very easily and as you know, blazers are a fave of mine as they can make you look pulled together at the drop of a hat!

This loose mini dress is so amazing. It actually comes with a slip underneath that can be removed which is great. If you’re feeling sexy, you can remove the slip and have that hint of bra showing from beneath the dress. But, if you’re headed to a more conservative affair, slip-slide into that slip and you’re all covered up and ready to make a more modest splash!

These pants are awesome. As I’m on the long and lean side I lean towards cropped or ankle pants so I don’t have to worry too much about the length. These pants are extremely comfortable and even though I’m usually a size 2 – 4 at H&M, I could have gone down a size. Paired with pumps, sneakers or boots, these pants would work so well and that’s the versatility I am looking for in my garments these days!

As for accessories, people, people, people…H&M has got you all the way covered! Earrings, necklaces, bracelets, bags, sunglasses, the list goes on and on. I chose two bags to go with my looks and I selected them because they can do double duty! The straw bag is great for roaming around town as it holds everything, but I also plan to use it for the beach! The black quilted bag can be worn as a clutch for going out, or as a cross-body bag for touring (yes, vacations are still on the brain) or just running errands.

As you can no doubt see, H&M is on my list of go to stores! They always come through with amazing styles at great prices. They offer us a great way to jump onto new trends and offer fun fashion finds for the frugal fashionista! Thank you H&M!

Fashion forward styles and affordability are the name of the game with H&M and they have some great offerings for us plus size sisters.

The gingham dress which I got in a size XXL is such a dream and must I admit that this little number is not form the plus size section. I clapped eyes on it in the straight size section and thought, “Why the hell not give a try cause you just never know!” That’s something that I want to encourage you ladies to do. Head into the the straight section and try things on because you just never know. If it doesn’t fit, just return it and that’s that. This dress was cut very generously in the hips area and there is plenty of room for my “juicy” arms in the sleeves.

I added a belt to accentuate my waist and to just add a little pazazz to the look. Now, these sandals are simply the cat’s meow! The braided detailing on the straps are so cool.

This dress is perfect for the office. Simply swap out the sandals for some pumps or add a blazer too and you’re good to go!

Dress: H&M (also available in straight sizes)

The dress, for whatever reason, is giving me safari vibes. I’m loving the zebra print of this dress. Now this dress is maxi in length so I wanted to “juje” it up a little bit by adding a belt and taking the hem of the dress and tucking it up and behind my belt thus giving the hem of the dress an uneven look. Now I get to show some leg! LOL

This dress is lightweight with long sleeves and is gathered at the neckline. The sleeves make it a perfect spring or fall look so one has some extra coverage against the cool winds those two seasons can sometimes bring.

Again, I added a belt to this look to not only accentuate my waist but to allow me to gather up a part of the hem to create the fun angled hem look as I mentioned earlier.

And that’s the long & short of it!

I follow you all on IG…Love your style. You ladies remind me of my twin and myself. She’s slender and has the height and I’m short with all the “goodies” ?.
