Stripes and Ladders

We’re seeing stars with all these fabulous stripes! From flowing to fitted, mini to maxi, we are unapologetically all about striped dresses right now! The long and short of it is that stripes are in and we are out and about rocking our fave pieces. Check it out!

Once again, this business about plus size women staying away from bold colour and that petite plus women should stay away from maxi dresses is a load of rubbish and I certainly not advice that I follow. This dress screams Summer and feels easy, breezy and oh so carefree!

So, this lovely empire style dress features to straps that start at the bust and fall behind the back. The fabric is light and airy so it’ll keep you cool on those hot Summer days.

I completed my look by adding touches of gold in the form of these gold dangly earrings, cuff and comfy wedge sandals. And with that I’m off to enjoy a tall cool glass of something refreshing!

For my gorgeous plus size babes, please refer to Gail’s look above!

I’ve been told several times that  I should wear more flared skirts and circle skirts as they give me more volume on the bottom yadda yadda yadda. But quite frankly, if you have not learned this about us yet, we wear what we want and make it work for our bodies!lol That said, when we decided to paint the town “striped” I selected this fab wrap dress from River Island, one of my absolute favourite stores!

So, let’s discuss how I decided to style it to highlight my assets. Since I’m slim, the first thing I decided to do was ad a belt to highlight my waistline. I actually like to wear my belts a little higher than my waist to give the illusion that my torso is short and my legs longer. I have quite a long torso, so if you have a shorter torso you probably don’t need to wear your belt extra high waisted.

Now, people tell me all the time, “oh you’re so tall, you don’t need to wear heals”. Yes, I am on the taller end of the spectrum at 5ft9, but I also love being tall and celebrate that even more by rocking my 4 – 5 inch heals whenever I feel like just because I love them!

Purse and accessories were a breeze. I kept the purse in the same tones as the dress and went for gold cuffs, earrings and necklace to polish off this look.  This looks makes me feel  good and happy, what else can a girl ask for in an outfit right?

And that’s the long and short of it!
